Christian Heinbockel was born in Hamburg in 1978. First, he studied naval architecture, then graduated in jurisprudence in 2006 before he completed his training as a director at the filmArche e.V. in 2014. There, he also was a member of the Student Council for three years.
Christian Heinbockel gained lots of experience as driver for car rental companies, as cloakroom assistant, storekeeper, and paper deliverer. Besides, he consistently wrote music. In 2007 he started his career in the film industry with first jobs at several production companies. Now Christian Heinbockel has been working as a film director in Berlin since 2009.
His passion for sound and music regularly leads him to film sets working as a sound recordist for short films, image films, and music clips. Christian Heinbockel also creates sound mixes and sound designs.
His short films “Nich mit Dieter!” and “Lass uns von Liebe sprechen” have been screened at various international film festivals.
